About Us
The American Real Estate Association (ARA) was founded in 2024 by Jason Haber and Mauricio Umansky on a simple idea: real estate professionals deserve a trade association they choose to join, not one they feel they have to. Built by agents, for agents, ARA exists to raise the standard of the profession and restore the public's trust in the people who do this work.
Today ARA has thousands of members in all 50 states, with partners including Compass International Holdings, The Agency, REMAX, Douglas Elliman and more.

The People Behind ARA
Our board is made up of people who’ve spent their careers in this business and care where it goes next. They’re not here for the title. They’re here because the work needs doing.
Agents, owners, investors, brand builders, and the people running the largest brokerages in the country. That range is the point. Nobody sees the whole industry from one seat, so the board was built to cover more of it. What they share is the belief that a stronger industry isn’t something you wait for.
